7 Ways to be More Interesting

Have you ever felt like your life wasn't interesting enough?  Maybe you don't feel like you have anything to blog about because all it seems you ever do is watch shows on Netflix while sitting on the couch.  Or maybe, you have so much going on in your life that you don't see the significance in anything you do.

Lucky for you, becoming interesting isn't that hard.  It only takes a little bit of work.

Here are a few tips that will help you do just that!
  1. Do something.  Explore someplace new. Read a book.  Play an instrument.  Just do something.  Anything!  As long as you do something, you will have something to talk about.
  2. It's okay to be weird. Jump off that bandwagon.  You really don't need that iPhone.  No offense to everyone who has one.  By not having one, you stand out and sometimes, that's a good thing!  Just be yourself! Like what you want to like, not what other people do.
  3. Just do it!  There is probably something you have always wanted to do.  Personally, I have always wanted to learn to scuba dive and play guitar, but I've been to scared to do it.  Sometimes, you just have to grow a pair and take the plunge.
  4. Have a cause.  Whether it's cancer, animal rights, or the environment, having a cause that you are interested in will make you seem more interesting.  I haven't found a cause that I'm really passionate about, but I'm always looking.
  5. Be optimistic.  Smiles are infectious and laughter is even more so. People are more attractive when they look on the bright side of life.  Who wants to be around someone who is always negative?  Uh.  No one.
  6. Keep Learning.  Never stop asking questions.  When you learn things, you will have more things to talk about.  Plus, there's nothing wrong with haven't a decent vocabulary.  Learning a few extra words will make you appear smarter, which is never a bad thing.
  7. Know who you are.  Interesting people have established their voice and know how to use their natural gifts.  What are your gifts and how would you use them to your advantage?  People who aren't trying to be someone else are definitely more interesting.
Overall, be more than one dimensional. "Layers. Onions have layers. Ogres have layers. Onions have layers. You get it? We both have layers."  Be an onion and build up your layers and you will become one of the most interesting people in the room!

How do you make yourself more interesting?

These are all good, inspirational ideas! I'm always surprised when people say their life is boring...I never feel that way. Perhaps, technically, my life may be boring and normal but I'm kind of in love with it--life sure seems interesting to me!
