Pretty Amazing v. 12

Rima and Chimmy's Corner.  This lady over here is a full time nurse, part time baker, and is now trying to save the animals in her free time!? She recently started a new segment on her blog that will feature videos, websites, articles, etc that will help to raise awareness about animal cruelty, charities, fundraisers, animal foundations, etc.  Her passion and willingness to spread the word is amazing.  Keep up the good work, hun!
Also, if you are an animal lover like Rima and would like to contribute to her segment, contact her!  It can be anything about animals, such as your own pet, memories, maybe even your trip to the zoo! The content can be anything pet or animal related.

Frozen Hot Chocolate.  Well, that's an oxymoron if there ever was one. I have been OBSESSING over hot cocoa this winter.  I haven't tried it yet, but this recipe sounds delicious.  I think it would be great if you wanted hot chocolate during the summer!  If you try it, will you tell me how it is?

These 12 facts you probably didn't know about the movie Mean Girls.  Everybody loves Mean Girls, right!? I saw this post on Pinterest and found it quite interesting, so I wanted to share it with my readers. I hope you find it as interesting as I did.

How helpful the people in my life are.  Last night, I realized that I need to turn in a college application by February 1st if I want to be eligible to get a merit scholarship.  I need to write a 1-2 page essay, put together a portfolio, and -gasp- find two people who would be willing to write a letter of recommendation for me.  I wasn't feeling too enthusiastic about that last part, but I contacted my former boss and she was more than happy to do it for me! My photography professor also agreed to write one.  God is good and I'm more hopeful of turning this application in on time now.  These people are pretty amazing in my book.

Lego and Luka Apps. After losing his lego people at the store, 7 year old Luka decided to take his dad's advice and write Lego an email explaining what happened and asking for a replacement Kind of farfetched to you and me, but the amazing thing, is, Lego actually sent him the replacement along with an extra toy.  Here is the full article.

What have you been finding Pretty Amazing? I would love if this weekly post became interactive, meaning my readers submitted things they found amazing. Pictures, stories, etc. Anything you want! Just add your submissions to the comment section and hopefully you will see them in the post next week!

first, thank you for featuring me (first one too!) on Pretty Amazing *tear*
second, GURRRLLL you gotta try Frozen Hot Chocolate from Serendipity (NYC or Las Vegas)... NOM to the max. It's damn good. But thanks to the internet, you found a recipe. YUM. Gotta try.

let's see, for a Pretty Amazing story... Today I had to assist for a breast biopsy on a female patient who had a lump on her left breast. Obviously she was very nervous. Well, prior to starting, the doctor always look at the previous images (ultrasounds and mammograms) and compares with a live ultrasound (the biopsy is guided with ultrasound). My doctor today spent 45 minutes, just scanning her trying to look for the lump... lo and behold, it shrink. You should see the huge smile on her face. She was sooo relieved. She was soo happy. I personally think it's pretty amazing :)

thanks girl!
